Seed Bomb

What is Guerilla Gardening?

Guerrilla gardening is a form of political gardening. Activists take over an abandoned piece of land which they do not own to grow crops or plants. This is accomplished by planting seeds or throwing seed "bombs" over fences and other areas not easily accessible.

Some guerrilla gardeners carry out their actions at night, in relative secrecy, to sow and tend a new vegetable patch or flower garden. Others work more openly, seeking to engage with members of the local community.

Ways to guerilla garden:

1. Throw seed bombs in abandoned lots or near abandoned buildings in your area

2. Find a patch of neglected land and either plant some flowers, veggies and fruit there or throw a few seed bombs and wait for the rain.

3. Throw seed bombs out on the side of a lonely road or highway stretch

4. Throw seed bombs onto the island in the middle of a road. Drive by in the next month or so to see them grow.

5. Plant or throw seed bombs on the side of the freeway where there may be just dirt or a neglected patch of land.

These are just suggestions. Remember, guerilla gardening, though it can improve the land, the atmosphere and make the air cleaner, is also considered illegal in many places.
